At Heritage Baptist Church, we generally teach the Bible verse by verse, book by book. Expository preaching means you hear Scripture explained clearly, with context, meaning, and practical application for everyday life.
Why Preaching Matters
God’s Word shapes how we think, live, and love. When Scripture is faithfully explained, it begats worship that sustains, strengthens, and satisfies the soul through the Spirit. Like trees planted by water, the saints are equipped to bear fruit for God’s glory in all seasons.
What to Expect from a Sermon
Each sermon seeks to be clear, grounded in the Bible, and centered on Christ. You can expect careful explanation, thoughtful application, and encouragement for daily life. All preaching is driven by the Gospel of Grace, the Bible’s main message of God saving sinners through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Worship
Why We Sing A Cappella
Singing using only our voices as the instruments allows the focus to remain on the words being sung and the truth being proclaimed. Worship is not a performance. It is the gathered church lifting one voice in praise to God.
Congregational Singing & Hymns
Our hymns are doctrinally sound and rich in truth. Every voice matters. From the youngest child to the oldest member, everyone participates together.
Worship in the Home
We encourage worship beyond Sunday morning. Singing, reading Scripture, and praying together at home strengthens both faith and family life.
